Odibaadodaan: Celebrating First Nation, Inuit and Métis Storytellers |
Join in the celebration of a variety of First Nation, Inuit and Métis storytellers across several mediums and disciplines.
This event also celebrates the opening of “World-builders, shapeshifters,” a group exhibition featuring works by Alex Jacobs-Blum, Kat Brown Akootchook, Kay Nadjiwon, Natalie King, Nishina Shapwaykeesic-Loft, and Sheri Osden Nault.

c_wonder: Indigenous Youth Club |
Guided by Indigenous students, the STEM Youth Clubs are grounded in Indigenous land-based learning, demonstrating the intersections between Indigenous knowledge, STEM, and engineering design to Indigenous youth.
There are upcoming dates for students in Grades 9 - 12:

Strong Hands Stop Violence Poetry Night |
In honour of UN International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Ontario Native Women's Association is hosting an evening featuring readings from both emerging and established poets, as well as live musical performances to raise awareness of violence against Indigenous women.
This virtual event will feature Susan Aglukark, Al Hunter, Jana-Rae Yerxa, Cher Obediah, Sara Kae, and more!

Mohawk Institute Residential School Virtual Tour |
Learn about the history of Residential Schools in Canada.
This virtual session will follow a guide as they give a tour of the former Mohawk Institute Indian Residential School. During the video, the guide will narrate the 140 year history of the institution.
Viewers will get to see the different rooms in the school, from the girls’ and boys’ dormitories, the cafeteria, laundry room, and other rooms throughout the building, as well as hear interviews with five Survivors of the Mohawk Institute.

This program is designed to help students overcome obstacles, build confidence, and reach the next stage in their educational journey.

DCDSB's Indigenous Student Circles |
Did you know DCDSB has Elementary and Secondary Indigenous Student Circles (ISC)?
Created to give Indigenous students in Grades 6 to 12 the opportunity to share their voice and culture, while meeting with other students from across the board, the ISC's also help members share and extend their learning.
