Find someone to dance with!
A great message in life. It was the order of the evening at Norwich, VT's Tracy Hall for a recent Family Contra Dance. "Join hands with your neighbors!" cried caller David Millstone. "Keep your elbows down, and look at the person you're dancing with." Hey, that's pretty good advice for life in general. Sweet ol' time tunes provided by the Norwich Community Band.

Indigenous Healing at Dartmouth
A member of the Diné tribe in New Mexico, Dr. Lori Alvord attended Dartmouth and became a surgeon. "People have wisdoms that go very far back," Alvord told a Dickey Center audience. Her lecture focused on healing properties of Navajo ceremonies. "Life begins with an energy that comes into our being....We are connected to that energy through sacred winds, which is our breath."

Media Arts Exhibit Opening
5-7PM
Redlining Our Souls
Artist Laura Di Piazza (b. NYC) will exhibit work from her Redlining Our Souls (ROS) series, opening First Friday with the artist from 5-7pm and running through the month as the centerpiece of JAM’s March theme “Home in the World,” an examination of housing justice locally and globally. The exhibition includes a slide projection highlighting racial covenants in property deeds that included restrictive clauses preventing white homeowners from re-selling or renting to Black Americans. The altered segregation redlining maps and descriptions are paired with the artist’s abstracted integrative paintings.

JAM Lab Weekend Intensive:
Fun with Green Screens!
10AM-2PM Saturday, February 25th
This weekend intensive is all about green screens. Why to use them, how to use them, and everything in between. Participants will learn how to set up green screens, light them for filming, and how to edit that footage in post to create transportive backdrops from your wildest imagination. Suited for all levels, ages 12 and older, no previous experience required. All equipment will be provided.
