Bertha Mae's Kitchen Now Open!
Congratulations Nolan and Pam Hych on your grand opening of Bertha Mae's Kitchen last Friday at 840 N. Summit St. We were thrilled to be there to help cut the ribbon and enjoy the fantastic fish!
Ebony Carter, director of the Minority Business Assistance Center at the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce, assisted Mr. Hych in opening the restaurant. She said that while he had several hurdles leading to the opening, his persistence paid off.
“We sat down and I identified a plan in order to help him overcome those barriers so that he could get his doors open,” she said. “We helped provide Nolan with assistance to connect him with community partners to secure funding in order for him to be able to take care of things that he needed to take care of so that the business can be compliant.”
“We have a great ecosystem for small businesses and minority entrepreneurs,” Ms. Carter added.
