Engage - Act - Effect Change

Dear All,
One thing we learned in 2024 is how much our elections matter. Everything we've experienced since then — the chaos, the cruelty, the corruption — has stemmed from an election in which one party took control of all three branches of government, and one man took control of the entire federal government.
We also learned the importance of voting early — whether by mail or in person. This is because voting early locks in your vote and guarantees it will count.
Passing up the opportunity to vote early can get in the way at exactly the wrong moment. You plan to vote, but wake up with the flu. Or your child spikes a fever. Or you're on deadline and working unexpected overtime. You're suddenly sent out of town. Or you plan to mail in your ballot, but the week gets away from you and suddenly it's too late to get it to a drop box in time. These aren't excuses — they're just life. And they happen to the most motivated, most committed voters among us.
We love voting in person on election day. We like running into our neighbors and chatting with the poll workers and getting our "I voted!" sticker. But this year, we're voting early. We're leaving absolutely nothing to chance.
In Massachusetts, you can vote in person from October 17-30. If you prefer to vote by mail, you can apply online, but don't wait because the deadlines are strict. If you can’t be certain to meet the deadlines, you can still vote early until October 30 or in person on November 3.
Join us — and millions of other people across the country — in casting YOUR ballot well before November 3.
And, read on for other actions you can take.

The Massachusetts General Election is less than 6 weeks away. With all the Trump administration is doing to prevent us from casting our votes, here are some important dates to keep in mind:
October 17-30: In-person early voting at Town Hall (Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, then normal Town Hall business hours during weekdays).
October 24: Last day to register to vote or make changes to your registration. Make sure you're registered HERE. If you are not registered or you need to update your registration (for example, a new address or party affiliation change), you can register HERE.
October 27: Last day to apply for mail-in ball; you can apply HERE. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure your mail-in ballot can be counted. Mail-in ballots must be delivered to Town Hall by 8:00 pm on November 3; drop boxes are available at Town Hall if you are concerned about Post Office deliveries. **College students should apply to Vote By Mail as soon as possible. Also check on the laws for registering to vote in the state in which you are attending college, if you prefer to vote there, rather than MA (go to the Secretary of State's website for the state you will be in)**
November 3: In-person election day voting at Winchester High School (7:00 am to 8:00 pm).

Protecting Voters
Voter protection helps ensure that everyone can access the polls and that every eligible vote is counted. Every conversation, volunteer hour, and civic action can help shape what comes next. Let’s step forward, bring others with us, and make these final weeks count.
Volunteers are needed for voter call and text hotlines, poll watcher programs, ballot cure, ballot review, and more. Protecting our vote to win the Midterms is critical.

Vote Early
Town Hall, Winchester
| |
|
Every generation has faced their own fight against corruption, discrimination, and authoritarianism.
Now the fight is ours to carry forward.
We the People decide our leaders. Not the billionaire class. Not tyrants who refuse to cede power. And not those who seek to dehumanize the vulnerable.
No Kings: Vote Early is the critical next step: this is not purely a protest, it is an urgent, massive day of voter participation and election protection. Voting early gives us the power to make our voices heard on our own terms, before Election Day and before anyone else can change what happens next.

Stop the SAVE Act
| |
|
This voter suppression legislation would require every voter to show proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections. That might sound simple, but the reality is that millions of eligible voters don’t have these documents readily available.
None-citizens are already barred from voting in federal elections, and states have secure systems in place to verify voter eligibility. These bills won’t improve election security, but will make it harder for millions of Americans to vote.
