Big news for North Carolina Motorsports!
The NHRA and Rockingham Dragway have officially announced that The Rock will host a full NHRA national event for the first time in its storied history as part of NHRA’s 75th Anniversary Celebration in 2026.
The NHRA Nationals at The Rock are set for September 25–27, 2026, marking the 16th of 20 events in the milestone season and the second of six playoff races in the Countdown to the Championship. At Monday’s press conference, six-time Pro Stock World Champion Greg Anderson joined Rockingham Dragway co-owner Dan VanHorn to share the news with local officials, including Senator Dave Craven, Rockingham City Manager Monty Crump, and Representative Ben Moss. Originally built in 1971, Rockingham Dragway hosted the NHRA Winston Invitational all-star event from 1989 to 1998, but 2026 will mark the first-ever full national NHRA event at this legendary North Carolina facility. This event represents a huge win for the sport, Richmond County, and North Carolina’s motorsports heritage. More innformation here also.

Speaking before the final Xinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway earlier this month, Lederer reflected on the run that the brand had from 2015-25 with this role and how it will remain in the sport in 2026 as a premier partner of NASCAR and team-side sponsor of 23XI Racing…
