Ken Squier, Hall of Fame broadcasting pioneer, dies at 88

Ken Squier spent a career talking about other folks and rarely spoke about himself. That’s our loss. The world of sports — NASCAR, in particular — is so much richer for his unselfish approach. Squier, who passed away Wednesday night at the age of 88, likely did as much for the growth of NASCAR as any car owner, crew chief or driver. Yet the Vermont native and lifelong resident of the Granite State never saw it that way…

2023 Kulwicki Driver Development Program (KDDP) Awards Banquet scheduled for December 14 at the Speedway Club

A huge night is set for December 14th at the Speedway Club, located within the iconic Charlotte Motor Speedway! Get ready for a thrilling celebration as we host the highly anticipated 2023 Kulwicki Driver Development Program Awards Banquet, where we'll honor and showcase 7 of the most exceptional short-track drivers in North America who are poised to become the next superstars in NASCAR.

Highlighting the evening is an exclusive roundtable discussion featuring members of the 1992 Alan Kulwicki Racing championship team, offering a rare glimpse into the history and legacy of this legendary racing figure. The renowned Fox Sports racing analyst Larry McReynolds will moderate this insightful conversation.

But that's not all! We are honored to have a special guest in our midst, an 18-time NASCAR Cup race winner, Geoff Bodine. After the tragic loss of Alan Kulwicki in 1993, Geoff Bodine acquired the assets of Kulwicki's race team. His presence at the event adds a unique layer of depth and history to our evening.

This unique event will also culminate with the crowning of the 2023 Kulwicki Cup Champion. Who will claim the prestigious "mighty mouse" trophy? Could it go to Max Cookson, Haedon Plybon, or Jackson Boone, the current front runners, or will Evan Szotko, Levon Van Der Geest, Riley Stenjem, or Jacob Borst make a surprise victory?

These remarkable drivers represent the future of NASCAR, not only for their achievements on the track but also for their dedication to giving back to their local communities in Alan Kulwicki's name. They embody the spirit of Alan Kulwicki, who was not only a champion on the track but a philanthropist off it.

During this evening, you'll hear inspiring stories of how these drivers have made a positive impact on their communities and how they've carried forward Alan's legacy. From charity work to community outreach, these drivers are more than just racers; they are role models and advocates for change.

The banquet is open to all who share our passion for racing and celebration, so reserve your seat today to enjoy the electrifying atmosphere and connect with fellow racing enthusiasts.

For those who seek an elevated experience, we offer a limited number of sponsor tables for the evening. For more information on table reservations or to secure your spot, please contact Wally McCarty at wm@wallymccarty.com or (704) 621-0212.
