Service Update on LDB Operations
In a memo shared by the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), it was announced that LDB's distribution centres and wholesale customer centres have completed all orders prior to September 14 and the Wholesale Customer Centre (WCC) will inform customers when their order has been shipped.

The LDB is working to assemble and ship the high volume of orders received; it will take two weeks or more for service levels to return to normal and delivery timelines will be delayed until further notice. The LDB is unable to provide delivery windows or ETAs for deliveries, and will advise when they return to standard service. We will continue to keep you updated on this.
Industry Anticipating Potential End of Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements
While it has not yet been confirmed, it has been speculated that the federal government is expected to drop mandatory COVID-19 vaccine requirements at its border as of September 30, along with random COVID-19 testing at airports. In addition, the unnamed source advised that filling out the ArriveCan app will no longer be required if announced. Currently, the restrictions are set to expire on September 30.

We continue to advocate for the removal of these restrictions and will keep our members abreast of any changes.
Short Term Rentals | District of Sechelt Tightens
Following growing public unrest from community members, the District Council of Sechelt voted to limit licenses for short-term rentals effective January 2023.

The district will only grant short-term rental licences to 15 operators. Right now, the mayor says there are approximately 50 operators in the town. However, Tourism Sunshine Coast estimates that number to be anywhere from 125 to 250 based on information from AirDNA, a short-term rental data platform. Three categories of short-term rentals have been identified, and each will be policed differently. Those who live in a home and rent out a suite won't be limited, and neither will those who are on the property and renting out a carriage house or outbuilding, as long as the homeowner is there. Secondary residences will be limited.
