BCGEU Reaches Tentative Agreement | Quantity Limits to Remain
Yesterday, it was announced that the BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU) has reached a tentative agreement with BC's Public Service Agency. On August 31, 2022, operations resumed at LDB distribution centres and the Wholesale Customer Centre on, allowing BCLIQUOR (BCL) stores to resume accepting orders from hospitality customers. Despite this good news, it is expected to take several weeks for stock to be replenished - delivery delays are also expected for some time.

In a memo from the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB), it was announced that quantity limits will remain in place for all BCL customer types. "The quantity limits of three items per SKU, per day will remain in place for all hospitality orders submitted through BCL stores; however, these limitations do not apply to beer product (import and domestic) or nonstocked wholesale product. We will revisit this temporary measure once we are able to confirm a timeline for when our stores will have replenished inventory and product selection

LDB and BC Liquor Stores apologize for this inconvenience and hope to resume normal services as soon as possible. We will continue to keep our members updated as this situation unfolds.
Wildfire Activity in BC
Expected to Extend into September
The Province is urging British Columbians to remain alert to the threat of wildfires as conditions remain warm and dry throughout September. Seasonal and above-seasonal temperatures forecast for September mean that wildfire risk remains a concern throughout the province. The number of wildfires and area burned are lower than the 20-year average for British Columbia at this time of year. We will keep the accommodation community updated on any activity or evacuation efforts.
DBC | Tourism Marketing Committee Applications for the 2023-2025 Term

Additionally, the TMC needs two representatives from Vancouver Island. No new representatives for the Thompson Okanagan region are required for 2023.
