Savannah Mayor Van Johnson issued a new Executive Order (on July 26th) for the City of Savannah regarding masks.
According to the order, masks are “strongly advised” in the following cases:
- Inside any commercial establishments.
- Employees for all restaurants, retail stores, salons, grocery stores, and pharmacies while having face-to-face interaction with the public.
According to the order, masks are required in the following cases:
- In a building owned or occupied by the City of Savannah.
- Early childhood, elementary, and secondary institutions.
- Hospitals.
- Passengers on any federally regulated transportation.
- All persons occupying vehicles on a guided tour, including cars, trolleys, busses, bicycles, quadricycles, scooters, and pedicabs.
Masks are not required in the following circumstances:
- When a person is alone or only with other household members.
- During physical activities, provided social distancing is maintained.
- While drinking, eating, or smoking.
- Wearing a mask aggravates a health condition.
- Wearing a mask would prevent the receipt of personal services.
- An individual is 10 years of age or younger.
