TRAC-IT Update: April 2022

Despite a slight schedule change: We’re still on track!...to launch Virginia’s new statewide early intervention data system this summer. Start getting ready!
If you haven’t heard, TRAC-IT—Tracking, Reporting & Coordinating for Infants & Toddlers in Virginia—is arriving on June 27thand we’re excited for you to hop on board with us! TRAC-IT will completely change the way we all work and collaborate together to support and serve Virginia’s infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families.

Imagine never again having to worry about forgetting to obtain a parent’s signature on a procedural safeguards form. Or always having the most current IFSP outcomes and goals at your fingertips. TRAC-IT has been designed for early intervention in Virginia. TRAC-IT has been designed for you!

To keep everybody in the loop and on track, ongoing updates and information are regularly posted to the TRAC-IT page on the ITCVA website. Be sure to review the TRAC-IT training schedule and plan to attend one or more of the upcoming training sessions that pertain to your interests and roles within Virginia’s early intervention system.

We’ve been dreaming about it for years…and now it’s almost here!

See you (online) on June 27th!
SUPPORTING POSITIVE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS
New Season, New Trainings

Spring has arrived once again. It feels wonderful to open the windows for the refreshing spring-like breeze, and to see all the trees with new blooms and growth. As we enjoy the view, we should consider our own growth and development. This season there will be many rich experiences for practitioners who would like to delve deeper into the subject of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. Our collaborators have created a course on Infant Mental Health and Attachment that will enhance the engagement we can all have with children and families that we serve. This course and the upcoming Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Conference in May, will allow exploration into the following concept areas: attachment, screening and assessment, collaborating with parents, maternal health, perinatal mood disorders, and much more. As you plan for your own personal professional development or the professional development for your team, please keep these options in mind.

As you know, the CDC’s “Learn the Signs. Act Early” developmental milestones have been updated! To learn more about this process, please check out these resources:

  • All of the “Learn the Signs. Act Early” materials have been updated, including the Milestone Tracker app. For each age level, the materials now include open-ended questions for families to discuss with their child’s health care provider:
