Summer Job Opportunities: Apply Now for 2025 |
The WorkPlace is excited to launch the 2025 Connecticut Summer Youth Employment Program through CareerHub, providing young adults ages 16-21 in the Southwest Region with valuable paid work experience.
Participants will gain essential workplace skills while earning income through placements at local businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies. Job opportunities include roles such as office assistants, retail associates, and camp counselors.
This program offers more than just a paycheck—it’s a chance to develop professional skills, receive mentorship, and explore different career paths. To qualify, applicants must be a resident of 20 towns served by The WorkPlace and available to work during the summer months.
Applications are open now through April 15, 2025, and space is limited. Don’t wait—apply today! Required documents include proof of residency, school ID, and working papers (for those under 18).

The WorkPlace Joins Connecticut AI Alliance |
The WorkPlace is proud to join the newly formed Connecticut AI Alliance (CAIA), a coalition of 16 academic institutions and six community organizations launched on March 6, 2025.
As a founding member, The WorkPlace will contribute to the Alliance's mission of establishing Connecticut as a hub for artificial intelligence innovation, with a focus on workforce development initiatives.
This partnership allows us to ensure Connecticut residents and businesses benefit from growing opportunities in artificial intelligence. The WorkPlace will help develop training programs that prepare our communities for in-demand AI skills and connect employers with technology-ready talent.
The Alliance focuses on research, workforce training, business growth, innovation infrastructure, and community engagement – aligning perfectly with The WorkPlace's mission to prepare people for careers and strengthen the workforce.

Career Services for Veterans Through Platform to Employment |
The WorkPlace is committed to helping veterans transition into meaningful careers through Platform to Employment (P2E) for Veterans. This program provides a structured path back into the workforce, offering career readiness workshops, skills assessments, and one-on-one coaching to help veterans regain confidence and secure employment.
P2E is designed for Connecticut veterans who have been searching for employment for six months or longer, providing personalized career counseling and job placement support. Veterans in P2E benefit from a dedicated career coach, job search assistance, and connections to employers looking for skilled workers. Whether transitioning to manufacturing or exploring other career paths, P2E provides the tools and support needed for success.
