Strategy: Influential Women
In the spirit of continuing education and knowledge exchange, the Plisko Sustainable Solutions, LLC team would like to share a short list of influential women who have inspired our work. To that end, here is a brief sampling of the works that motivate us. Take some time to delve into the history, relevance, and great contribution of these women!
  1. Biomimicry by Janine Benyus. Innovation inspired by nature.
  2. Living Downstream by Sandra Steingraber. Explores links between human rights and the environment, with focus on chemical contamination. Also by Steingraber is Raising Elijah, a book about protecting children in an age of environmental crisis.
  3. Not Just a Pretty Face by Stacy Malkan. The ugly side of the beauty industry.
  4. Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. Carson challenged the practices of agricultural scientists and the government, and called for a change in the way humankind viewed the natural world.
  5. Story of Stuff by Annie Leonard. Watch the twenty minute online movie about the way we make, use and throw away all the Stuff in our lives.

What inspires you? Please share with us the works that motivate you!
