Hamilton Labour Force Snapshot, August 2016: Learn about the strengths and weaknesses of Hamilton's economy

Every month Workforce Planning Hamilton uses Statistics Canada data to create the Hamilton Labour Force Snap Shot. This infographic provides detailed information on Hamilton CMA's labour market conditions.

In August, compared to last year, industries that gained in the number of people employed were: information, culture and recreation; construction, and transportation and warehousing.

Industries that lost employees, when compared to 2015 included: manufacturing; finance and insurance; and business, building, and other support services.

The growth of robotics will transform customer service, transportation, education and medicine

A new Forrester research report predicts that in just five years, robots will steal six per cent of U.S. jobs, forecasting that "a disruptive tidal wave will begin" by 2021. 

It predicts the biggest impact will occur in transportation, logistics, customer service and consumer services.
