NASA Culturally Inclusive Planetary Engagement Workshops
Planetary scientists, astrobiologists, and informal educators are invited to apply to attend a Culturally Inclusive Planetary Engagement professional development workshop. During the workshop, scientists and educators are paired together and supported in bi-directional conversations around diversity and inclusion in engaging Black and Latinx audiences in planetary science (workshop objectives and outcomes here). Participants also co-create and lead hands-on activities during a public engagement event following the workshop held in collaboration with a local youth-serving organization. These events allow workshop participants the opportunity to practice engagement strategies discussed in the workshop. Dates, times and locations vary, find your closest workshops here.
NASA STAR Program
Spaceflight Technology, Applications and Research (STAR) is a virtual NASA program for space biosciences training. The annual course targets principal investigators (PIs), senior research scientists, and postdoctoral scholars and aims to facilitate their entry to space biology and preparation for conducting spaceflight experiments using NASA and commercial platforms. Visit the website for FAQs and course curriculum.

The deadline to apply is June 2, 2023. The course will be held between September 2023 – February 2024. The course is free of charge. Apply here.
