Oak Hills Drive Addition

Castle Rock, CO

Design of a one-story garage and patio addition to a single-family residence. TDEG designed the superstructure and foundation and prepared construction drawings.

TDEG's work at this location for the Denver Public School System is two phases. The first phase involved the review of the existing structure for the addition of two new units on the roof of a

pre-engineered metal building. Phase 2 involves the design of a new free-standing support frame that will extend through the roof to support the new RTU units. TDEG is pleased to be collaborating

with DLH Architecture on this project.

TDEG Helps Out with

Eagle Scout Project

When Trevor Venable, an Eagle Scout in Castle Rock, reached out to TDEG requesting a structural engineer's help, Steve Lehigh of the Castle Rock office was more than willing to lend a helping hand.

Trevor's project involved installing four solar panel modules on a shed located on the property of the First United Methodist Church. A structural engineer was needed to approve the weight of the solar panel modules and to submit a letter to the Town of Castle Rock. Solar panels were needed to power up a golf cart which would be used to transport elderly parishioners at the Church.

Steve determined that the structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed solar panels. After the letter was submitted to the Town, Trevor and others from Troop 316 got to work. The panels were installed and the job completed! Kudos were given to Steve for volunteering his expertise and to Trevor who completed his project for a worthy cause!

Steve Lehigh has been heading the Castle Rock office since it opened in 2017. He is currently writing an article about his experiences with opening a branch office for Structure Magazine. The article will be featured in an upcoming issue and we will be sure to share it in an upcoming Info-Structure.
