TDEG Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, the last few weeks have been challenging for everyone. Many of us are going through feelings of uncertainty and sadness. Here at TDEG, as we continue to work remotely, we strive to remain connected and look out for each other and those around us. Through it all we are continually amazed at how resourceful and creative people can be while still practicing social distancing. The stories that surround us of selflessness and gratitude give the encouragement to continue moving forward and remain hopeful.

The recently completed project at 78-82 Greenwood Avenue is a two-story, mixed-use building on a busy corner near the center of Bethel. The building is 18,000 square feet with retail on the ground level and office space and apartments on the second level.

Weston Public Library Addition
Weston, CT
The addition of a new two-story, 6,500 square foot wing will preserve the existing library building functionality and will be situated at the north end of the 1991 addition that was, coincidentally, designed by The Di Salvo Engineering Group. Construction is planned to start in the Fall of 2020.

New York State Code
The current 2018 Building Code of New York State (BCNYS) is scheduled to be changed to the 2020 Building Code of New York State on May 12, 2020. The new Code will be comprised of the 2018 International Code Council (ICC) model codes with Amendments.

The effective date of the 2020 NYS Code Books will be May 12, 2020. There will be no transition period. Beginning on May 12, 2020, regulated parties submitting building permit applications must comply with the 2020 NYS Code Books.

Upcoming Events
TDEG is a sponsor in the upcoming "
Run from the Sun 5K
" road race which will benefit Ann's Place in Danbury. The race is planned for Thursday, August 20, 2020. After the race participants can enjoy live music and an outdoor barbecue. Ann's Place is an organization that provides those living with cancer and their families with free services which include counseling, support groups, a peer mentor program and wellness program. The organization is an important place for these people to find comfort, hope and support.
