Dear BB&N Families,
On Thursday night, more than 250 BB&N parents joined us in real time as the campus directors, chief digital officer, and I hosted an Online Learning Q&A Webinar. It was incredibly energizing for us to experience the familiar sense of BB&N community, even if it's virtual these days.
In the spirit of full transparency, we had intended to share a recording of the webinar for any parents who were unable to attend in real time. However, we realized after the fact that our recording did not work correctly. This is truly going to be a learning process for all of us—I say as I channel my inner Carol Dweck (author of
The Growth Mindset
). As we talked about Thursday night, this is just one example of how we are going to need to rely on flexibility, patience, compassion, and humility as we navigate our Online Learning journey together!
In lieu of a recording, we would like to share with you a link to
an FAQ page our Online Learning Hub
. On the bright side, reading the FAQ will take far less time than watching the recording. :-) This page will stay updated in the weeks ahead, so be sure to check back.
Just a reminder that
tomorrow, Monday March 30, I will host two voluntary Zoom Webinars
for our most important community members: our students! Here are the links:
Our faculty and staff are looking forward to our days of preparation tomorrow and Tuesday as we get ready for the launch of Online Learning on Wednesday, April 1. As I noted previously, Tuesday March 30 will be a day that teachers will reach out to their students to ensure that everyone is able to connect successfully. Your teachers/campus will be in touch with you before Tuesday with that outreach schedule.
Part of tomorrow’s work for faculty and staff will be to review the draft of “
Online Norms and Expectations for Our Community
” that I shared with them on Friday. I will share the final document with you and your children tomorrow evening, and I’ll also let you know how my student-focused webinars went.
I hope that everyone is remaining safe and well. It has been 16 days since we’ve seen each other and I know I speak for our teachers, staff, and administrators when I say how much we have all been thinking of you!
