New information from Barrington Congregational Church, UCC
Keeping you up-to date
During this time of uncertainty and change, these emails (mini-newsletters) are being sent to the congregation with updates as they become available.
So the emails don't become too long and repetitive, we'll not be repeating most previous information sent out. However, all of the emails are now being posted to our website at this link for easy access if you missed any earlier ones.
Today's email contains new information, including a new place to watch live and downloadable resources for worshiping with us online this Sunday.

Worship with us online
Watch the livestream service this Sunday - and download resources ahead of time!
Following the successful live-streaming of the worship service last Sunday, we'll be continuing to do the same each Sunday at 10 am until further notice, but with more music, and downloadable resources.
Upgrades:
A couple of hymns have been added to the service and Amanda Colby will be joining Dale, Linda and Marina in the sanctuary. (Thanks, Amanda for offering to lead the singing).
Viewers will be able to participate more in the service as there's now a bulletin to download which includes a responsive 'Call to Worship' and the scripture passage, and a hymn sheet to download with the words of the two hymns so you can join in at home. Each is a just a single sheet of paper that you should have no problem printing out. If you prefer to view both resources in a single document on a second screen, or download them as one document, click on this link.
We've also purchased a special microphone so hopefully those who had a hard time hearing the service last Sunday will have no problems in the future.

How to watch:
The service will once again be hosted by Facebook Live but there are now two places where you can find it:

  1. On the church's website on our new 'BCCUCC live-stream' page . Either click on the preceeding link or go to the website www.bccucc.org and click on the 'BCCUCC live-stream' link from the home page.
  2. On our church's Facebook page www.facebook.com/bccucc. Don't worry if you don't have a Facebook account, you'll still be able to watch the service. If you do have an account, you can also find our page by searching on Facebook for 'Barrington Congregational Church UCC' - and if you haven't already, please 'Like' our page so you'll continue to see our posts.

Prayers of the People:
Dale and Linda will again be including Prayers of the People. They invite you to email or text them prayers (to  dale@bccucc.org  or  linda@bccucc.org), or leave a message on the church's answering machine (246-0111) a ny time prior to 9:00 AM on Sunday morning so they can include them in the live stream. Please be sure if you are mentioning people, to confirm that they would be comfortable with being lifted up in public AND that you don’t include full names. Perhaps just mention first names. We want to be respectful of peoples’ privacy as we hold them in our prayers.

Join us:
Our faith community may not be able to get together in person on Sundays during this time of COVID19 restrictions, but we can still join in spirit as we worship together online from wherever we may be. We look forward to you virtually joining us at 10 am this Sunday . The livestream will begin several minutes earlier to give you time to get online and successfully find the link before the service starts.

Watch again:
If you are unable to join us on Sunday morning - or want to watch it again - a recording of the service will be available later on our church website www.bccucc.org

Sunday Announcements:
Included in this Sunday's announcements are the list of the week's birthdays and the altar flower donors and their dedications, as well as a brief summary of information included in recent emails.
Please note
Church Offering - please continue to give if you are able
Thank you to those of you who have already begun to mail your contributions to the church. If you are financially able to do so at this time, we encourage you to mail in your regular contributions or use online banking if that is available to you. This will allow our cash flow to remain stable and for the church to be able to pay its bills and meet payroll. We appreciate your efforts! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Financial Secretary, Pat Stoddard, at pat@bccucc.org or 246-0111 x 102. Thank you.
Current sermons can't be listened to again - watch them instead!
For technical reasons, audio-only recordings of the sermons aren't being made while the worship service is only happening virtually. So, instead of listening to the sermon again as in the past, you can watch them - either live or on a recording of the worship service at our BCCUCC live-stream page.
Worth repeating
'Facebook Live with Andrea' - updated info
Andrea Bullard, our Christian Education Coordinator, has launched a live-stream from church as a way to keep in touch with the children and their families - and anyone else who would like to watch. Her first live-stream was yesterday and she read a wonderful story, shared a Psalm, and showed the first of many images of God (there will be a new image each time). If you missed it and want to see the recording, you can watch it again.

Andrea plans to be live on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 10 am over the next few weeks and will be with them for 15 minutes or so. However, this 10 am time may need to change as some school districts will be having 'virtual school' at that time. We'll keep you posted of any changes.

There are now two ways to watch Andrea on Facebook Live:
  1. On the church’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/bccucc
  2. On the church's webpage www.bccucc.org at the 'BCCUCC live-stream' link from the home page, where the Facebook feed will be embedded.

For Facebook live, simply go to www.facebook.com/bccucc just before 10 am to watch. You don't need a Facebook account to see it. If you do have an account, search for the church's Facebook Page which is 'Barrington Congregational Church UCC'. If you 'Like' our page should then get our news feeds, and also be able to comment on our posts and the live feeds.
