Mission critical systems are essential to the survival of a business or organization. When a mission critical system fails or is interrupted, business operations are significantly impacted and may result in loss of life and damage to property.
Complexity arises from the missions that these systems perform and the environment in which they operate. For example, to perform such functions there is a requirement for integrating multiple-sensor data; mission-critical systems generally must incorporate state-of-the-art technologies. These systems often operate in a geographically distributed, real-time environment, and interoperate with other complex systems. Mission critical systems comprise our national defense network, our critical infrastructure, and our health care systems. Protecting these systems is crucial to national survival.
Our course,
Introduction to Protecting Mission Critical Systems, serves as an introduction to these systems. It details the differences found between mission critical systems and business operational systems, and the challenges these systems face in maintaining a secure environment. This course is to be held on
August 27th.

Threat Actor's Use of Publicly Available Information
|
|
More commonly known as Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Publicly Available Information (PAI) can provide the threat actor with a wealth of information to be used in developing attacks against organizations and individuals. Today, individuals post personally related information to their social media accounts, companies and organizations tout their efforts in similar vain, all providing significant information that can be used against them.
This course, consisting of almost thirty-two hours of hands-on exercises, is designed to make individuals aware for the wealth of information that is currently available with few tools and a little patience. Even organizations that pride themselves on reduced public exposure often find that information is available about them from both inside the organization and from clients and supply chain vendors with whom they conduct business.
Protecting corporate information is crucial to ensuring a safe and secure organization.

Cyber Guardian is a week-long event that includes three days of hands-on training in defending a network. Configured in a Red Team/Blue Team format, participants defending the network will have the ability to establish a secure network environment before the Red Team is unleashed. After the start of the effort, the event becomes a full scale battle between those whose job it is to defend the network assets and those individuals who wish to compromise the system.
Cyber Guardian can be configured based on the participant's requirements, or it can be conducted using a standardized organizational environment.
Cyber Guardian is scheduled for
October 9th.
