Update for Monday, December 7, 2020
  • In a press conference today, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that if the statewide and regional hospitalization rates do not stabilize within 5 days, indoor dining would be banned in New York City and capacity would be reduced from 50% to 25% for the rest of the state.

  • Gyms, barbers, and hair salons will not be required to close if indoor capacity is reduced to 25%.

  • Additionally, hospitals are required to expand their hospital bed capacity by 25% to handle the increase in hospitalizations.

  • A timeline or metrics were not provided on when these restrictions would be lifted if they are put in place. Governor Cuomo did say that they would be lifted after the numbers "stabilize" but nothing further was offered.

  • The CDC has released new guidance on what individuals should do if they come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or if an individual begins to experience symptoms of COVID-19. Notably, the isolation time has been reduced from 14-days to 10-days. The guidance can be found HERE.
