Dear Bronco,

To accommodate physical distancing and other safety measures necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic, the university is making changes to its fall course schedule. These changes may affect your schedule of classes, both in terms of class meeting day or time and type of course delivery (In-person, Hybrid, Remote, or Online).

When will I see changes to my fall 2020 course schedule?
Academic departments expect to have completed the vast majority of these changes by July 15. As is true in any semester, a small number of additional changes will take place between July 15 and the start of classes.

How will courses be delivered?
There may be four possible types of courses in your schedule:
  • In-person: on-campus class meetings; physical distancing and personal/public hygiene and prevention measures will apply, including the requirement to wear facial coverings
  • Hybrid: a blend of in-person class meetings and some remote/online activities
  • Remote: class uses technology to meet virtually at scheduled times
  • Online: course content and activities delivered online without scheduled class meeting times, and they are completed within time frames and deadlines set by the instructor

Complete descriptions of these course types, along with information about setting yourself up for success this fall, are found on the Fall 2020 Course Delivery Types website and in the attached document.

A welcome change you may notice on your fall schedule of classes is that you will not be charged the typical $30 per credit fee associated with online courses. The university is waiving that fee for fall semester 2020.

Why are things changing?
These changes are a result of the university adopting Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Because physical distancing requirements significantly reduce the number of students who can be in a classroom at any one time, we will be moving some classes to larger rooms and others to different instructional modes. We will also be working to increase the passing time between classes to allow you to maintain appropriate physical distance while moving between classes. Finally, it is also important to know that all in-person meetings will require students and faculty to wear facial coverings.

What do I need to do?
After logging in to myBoiseState to review the status of your fall 2020 schedule on July 15, no further action is needed to retain your enrollment in these courses.

Where should I go if I have questions about these changes?
