CHS eNEWS                               Senior/Class of 2016 Edition

This newsletter is going out to Senior Families only.  The purpose is to consolidate as much Senior information that we can.  We have tried to gather as much data that Senior parents would want to know about these months leading up to Graduation Day, 5/20.  Please continue to read the monthly PTSA eNews that comes out the 3rd Tuesday of each month for reminders and additional information.

Project Graduation is a safe way for Seniors to celebrate with their classmates on Graduation Night.  It is a "lock in" at Andrettis on 5/20, starting at 11:30pm.  Doors are locked at midnight and no one can leave or enter until 6am the next morning.  The students will have full access to the Andretti activities: go karts, games, rock climbing wall.  In addition to this, there will be a poker tournament, mobile photo booth, DJ, caricature artist, hypnotist and potentially karaoke.  The event will end with a raffle that includes prizes such as a Go Pro, TV, and gaming system.    The fee will go up to $85 on 4/18.  Scroll below for more information.

The Graduation Ceremony is on Friday, 5/20 at 7:30pm at Mt. Pisgah.

A letter will be sent to all senior parents next month outlining the details about graduation.

Senior Luncheon will be on Thursday May 19th - 11:30AM - 12:30PM.
On the day of the graduation rehearsal, seniors who have paid their Senior Dues will be having a Senior Lunch.

Graduation Rehearsal will be on Thursday May 19 - 1:00PM - 2:00PM
This rehearsal at Mt. Pisgah is MANDATORY if a student will be participating in the graduation ceremony.

Tickets for the Graduation Ceremony
Seniors will be given their graduation tickets AFTER  the graduation rehearsal ONLY if they are on the list noting that they have passed all their classes AND paid all their fees prior to the rehearsal.  Seniors who still have outstanding parking fees or any other fees associated with Centennial will not be issued tickets until the school has been notified that the fee is paid.  Students are given a set amount of tickets for guests to attend the ceremony, as there is limited seating at Mt. Pisgah (in previous years 6 tickets have been given to each graduating senior).
The Baccalaureate Service will be held on  Sunday, May 15  at Mt. Pisgah Church from  5:00 PM - 6:00 PM . A short reception will follow.  Baccalaureate is a non-denominational worship service intended to encourage, challenge and inspire graduates as they move from high school to their future endeavors.

Graduates should wear their graduation gowns to the service (no caps).
Girls - wear a white or light colored dress with dressy shoes or sandals.
Guys - wear black or navy pants, white collared shirt, tie and dress shoes.

Graduates are to be at Mt. Pisgah no later than  4:30 PM  and will gather upstairs in the balcony until the service begins. Formal invitations will be sent to all graduates in April. There is no limit to the number of guests, all are welcome. The committee will ask for a $20 donation to defray the costs of the service.  Please contact Anita Sullivan at  or Kim Freemyer at  with any questions.

Graduation Cords
Club sponsors are responsible for graduation cords.  Have your student check with their club sponsor about whether they have graduation cords and what the cost is.  Many clubs raise money for their club by selling graduation cords.  Graduation cords are worn around a student's neck over their graduation gown for the graduation ceremony.

Project Graduation Lock In at Andretti's
This is a fun and safe event for our Senior Class on 5/20 after the Graduation Ceremony from 11:30pm through 6:00am.  This event is funded mostly through ticket sales and yard sign sales.  We would like to have as many people purchase tickets and yard signs now as we can get.  The more money that we can raise now, the more prizes we will be able to purchase for the event.

Forms are available at the CHS front office, online at the CHS PTSA website under Seniors 2016 or by following these links.
We also would love to receive personal donations as well as business donations.  Business donations will be noted in our monthly newsletters as well as on our PTSA website and school marquee.

Please turn in forms with payments as well as donations to the front office at school.  If you have any questions, contact Eva Taylor at

If you purchase the ticket to Project Graduation before April 1, you will receive 2 raffle tickets to win prizes.  On April 18 the price of admission rises to $85.

Special thanks to X-drenaline. for their very generous $500 donation to Project Graduation.  X-drenaline offers a unique combination of activities that no one else has all under one roof - indoor trampolines, rock climbing walls and ninja obstacle courses. We cater to kids and parents, with the most exciting activities for kids and comfortable settings for moms and dads.  X-drenaline  - 1611 Roswell Rd, Marietta 30062.  Please check them out!         Like us on Facebook               View on Instagram
