November 4th - Symposium at IVC


We are excited to gather together with other fellows in the Orange County Consortium. This professional development event will feature inspiration to serve, a focus on financial literacy, mock interviews, and more!


Meet at 8:30 AM (Bus departs at 8:45 am) at the Career Center and return by 3 pm at the latest. Concordia provides transportation (required - students are not allowed to drive themselves). More information is available below or in the google calendar event. This is one of the mandatory events listed in the signed FSA. Please wear a College Corps polo!


How do you receive credit for attending? Log this in America Learns as "training" at Concordia. We will scan a QR code to check in and then record 6.5 hours in America Learns after the event. Should you encounter any challenges during the event or prior to it,

Laval Brewer, CEO of South County Outreach will be providing our keynote address. As a host partner to several of our universities, we are excited he will be serving alongside of us to provide inspiration and encouragement.

What To Bring?


Make sure to wear your College Corps polo shirt. (If you need a different size, please contact us in advance.). It's also ideal to bring a water bottle, jacket, tablet or paper notebook/pen.

Meals


A light breakfast will be provided. Allergies and dietary restrictions have been provided to staff members at IVC coordinating the event.


The Habit Food Truck will be providing lunch!





Headshots


One of the breakout sessions will be providing professional headshots.


We ask that you wear your College Corps polo shirt for the day. Please dress comfortably!

Mock Interview


This breakout session will have multiple volunteers serving to assist in a "practice" interview. You are welcome to bring a CV, cover letter or resume. However it is NOT required. Nor is prep of any kind.

Other Breakouts


Other breakouts will be taking place throughout the day. You may recognize IVC, Vanguard, or Concordia staff joining you or assisting in leading. If you desire additional resources based on anything you experience, please let us know. We would be happy to connect you!
