A MESSAGE From Superintendent Barrett
Dear Gahanna-Jefferson Families,

We know many of you are anxiously awaiting the final results of the Issue 22 levy that was on the November 3, 2020, ballot. As you know, the Franklin County Board of Elections announced in the early morning hours of November 4 that Issue 22 passed by two votes. Although we are pleased with this initial outcome, there are more ballots to be counted. At this time the Franklin County Board of Elections is working to verify provisional ballots and making sure all eligible votes are counted before they can certify the results. We will let you know the final results as soon as we can.

Like you, we are also very concerned about the growing number of cases of COVID-19 in our area. We have set up a COVID Task Force made up of medical professionals in our community. The purpose of this group is to meet regularly to review district data, discuss COVID-19 practices, and provide feedback and recommendations for our district’s pandemic plans.

This is an ever-changing situation, and our team will update you as we get relevant information to share. As always, we will do all we can to assure the health and safety of our students, teachers, staff and school community, while maintaining our commitment to providing a quality education.

Sincerely,

Steve Barrett
Superintendent
Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools

DAILY SYMPTOM Home Checklist
An important part of decreasing the spread of the virus in our schools involves daily symptom checks by our families. School staff will monitor students regularly throughout the school day; however, it is critical that students stay home if they are experiencing symptoms.
FEATURE Stories
FIRST GLIMPSE of the New Lincoln Elementary
Members of the Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools' Board of Education saw the interior of the new Lincoln Elementary for the first time during a tour of the construction site a few weeks ago.

In May of 2018, voters approved a 5.5 mil levy that is financing the construction of the new elementary school as part of Phase One of the GJPS Master Facilities Plan.

The two-story building on Helmbright Drive is on schedule to open for students in August 2021.
