Summer 2019
Congratulations GLHS Class of 2019!
"Where Students Come First"
SNAPSHOT  of a 2019 GLHS Graduate
During the spring of 2019, Superintendent Steve Barrett had a chance to sit down with some of our graduating seniors to discuss their teachers, classes, proudest moments and advice for incoming freshmen.

GJPS is preparing our students for many paths after graduation and we were honored to speak with students who are entering the military, joining the work force, attending two year or four year colleges and some who will be doing a combination.

The heartfelt comments from our students say much about our schools and the   Vision, Mission and Beliefs  set to guide us. Please enjoy these interviews with just a few of the 525 graduates from the Class of 2019.

GRIN Back to School Fair

Items offered during the event include book bags, school supplies, personal hygiene items, books and hair cuts to Gahanna-Jefferson school district residents in need.
As the summer winds down, soon-to-be kindergarten parents are anxious to prepare their kids for their first school experience. It won't be long before the little ones are heading off to school in August with their new backpacks and venturing into their academic years (cue parental tears!).

While most families attended Gahanna’s Kindergarten Roundup events and have explored their new schools and meet teachers and staff, parents might still be wondering how they can best prepare their child for the year ahead. Kindergarten staff and teachers are here to help with the following tips.

GLHS Q&A GUIDE For Incoming Freshmen
Transitioning from one of our middle schools to Gahanna Lincoln High School is an exciting time for students and parents alike. However, it is not surprising this change may also come with a little apprehension and A LOT of questions.

The GLHS "S" Club and Mrs. Aiello (advisor) have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions many rising freshmen may have about the GLHS experience.

This is a fabulous resource for all students at GLHS, but especially welcoming for our new freshmen and their families.

GLHS COMMUNITY ARTS CLASS Another Successful Herb N' Arts Fair
The  Herb N’ Arts Fair , started by high school art teacher Sharon Iseringhausen and her  Community Arts  class, is quickly becoming a Gahanna staple. The fair, held every May at the VFW Park, features music and art creation stations, stage performances, physical activities led by the high school athletic department, food trucks and more for community members to enjoy.

Iseringhausen wanted to get students involved in art projects throughout the community ever since she taught elementary school art. The idea for the arts fair came when Iseringhausen’s high school Community Art class wanted to do a hands-on project instead of a final exam. Fast forward four years later and the idea has blossomed into a highly anticipated community tradition.

Summers are always a busy time for families. While you are enjoying days filled of sunshine, visits to the pool and no homework, please enjoy looking back to these stories from around GJPS.
