From the CEO
The FreeState board of trustee election process is beginning. Our Trustees are the integral part of our cooperative whose main responsibilities are fiduciary and also tasked with setting policy for the operation of FreeState.

The FreeState board prioritized the importance of recognizing the fair and balanced election process between the east west districts. Their focus was to ensure adequate representation for all members.

We strive to help you better understand the services available to you while getting to know those who are continuously working to provide you with safe, reliable, and efficient power. It is for this reason FreeState chose to develop will bring our members a year-long series focusing on each of our individual departments and the employees in them that are member-driven.
Operations Department
Since the late 1930s, cooperatives have worked to uphold their commitments to their communities. Through the seven cooperative principles, electric cooperatives across the nation have dedicated themselves to providing safe and reliable power to their members—including your own FreeState Electric Cooperative.

Where are they now?
Delegates from Youth Tours past reflect on the trip that shaped their careers.
Upon returning to their communities, they were enthused individuals motivated by the profound structure and history of Washington D.C. with a new perspective.

Margin Stabilization Adjustment Refund
FreeState East District members will notice a line item on their January bill for December usage representing a refund, or their fair share of a rebate received from our East District power supplier, Kansas Electric Power Cooperative.

The Season of Giving
Through the assistance of FreeState Electric Cooperative’s participating members, the Operation Round-Up® committee recently awarded $16,500 in contributions to local community programs.

The program was launched in 2017 and will continue to provide charitable funding in 2018.
