Dear Lab Community Member,
We wanted to keep you apprised of the Head of School Search Committee’s activities this summer.
The Committee met in late July to discuss a slate of ten candidates selected by the search firm, Triangle Associates/Heads up, as the most promising for Lab. After discussion and through consensus, the Committee selected its top five candidates to be invited to interview in person with the Search Committee on September 13. We are delighted with the quality and experience of these individuals and feel confident that we have a field of candidates from which we can make an excellent selection to lead Lab into the future.
The search firm has advised us that each of the five candidates was excited to have been chosen and will come to DC for the semifinalist interviews, which will take place off campus. We look forward to meeting these individuals and delving more deeply into their qualifications.
As noted in an earlier communication, candidates need not notify their current employers that they are being considered for this position until they have been selected as finalists. Thus, it remains necessary for us to continue to keep the identities of the candidates confidential; we cannot share any information about them with you at this time.
Remember that the finalists, once selected in mid-September, will be visiting The Lab School on October 16, 17, and 18, and that there will be opportunities for you to meet with each of them on those days. We will provide you with that schedule once it is arranged. We wanted, also, to let you know that a
Head of School Search page
has been developed on Lab’s website (under “About” at the top of the public webpages) that will be updated with information about the search and, when the time comes, about the finalist candidates and the schedule for their meetings during their visits.
