Information on 2020-2021 Redistricting for Fourth Grade Families
Dear North Allegheny Fourth Grade Family,

The District has received your response regarding the continuation option for your current fourth grade student. According to our records, you have declared that your current fourth grade student WILL NOT continue at their current elementary school for fifth grade and will be redistricted to the elementary school designated for your home in the 2020-2021 redistricting plan. If this is a mistake, please email no later than Friday, January 31, 2020.

The District has created a transition plan to assist families in understanding the redistricting process and prepare for a move to a new school. This plan will be shared with parents/guardians on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the North Allegheny Senior High School auditorium. The format for this meeting is as follows:
  • Discussing the transition and timeline
  • Tips for parents on helping children deal with change
  • Question and answer session for all parents/guardians

The presentation from the meeting will be posted on North Allegheny website the day following the meeting for those who are unable to attend.
Please visit the redistricting webpage on the NA website for additional information and transition tips designed to assist families with for this change for the 2020-2021 school year. Additionally, School Counselors are available to assist students and can be contacted by calling the main office of your child’s current school.
The staff at both your child’s current school and new school are dedicated to making this transition as smooth as possible. North Allegheny looks forward to working with students and their families to help them successfully transition into their new school for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

North Allegheny continues to be committed to approaching redistricting in a manner that is supportive of all involved. Please continue to pay close attention to your email for further communications regarding redistricting. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward with plans to accommodate our rapidly growing and flourishing community.
