Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope your holiday season was lovely and I wish you all the best that 2025 will have to offer :)
Order pick-up service at Donna's is back, so see below for details. And congrats to Susan B. who was the winner of the 13th Annual Holiday Raffle! :)
Thank you to all who let me know about the teas you plan to stock up over the next two months. I believe I confirmed requests with everyone who sent me one, but please let me know if I missed anyone. Some teas have already been restocked, others are on the way, and several more are now out of stock to return when we are back up and running. Several scone mix flavors are also now out of stock, with limited supply on the others. The scone mixes will not be restocked before the end of February, so grab your favorites now!
Our relocation to Tennessee is still on track for March and, as promised, below are updated details and key deadlines to keep in mind in preparation. My primary goal before the move is to ensure that you are able to purchase all the tea you need to get you through the duration of the service interruption, which will be longer than the one everyone experienced after the close of Infuse Tea Bar. I continue to put an insert in everyone's orders, whether being shipped or picked up, that informs about the upcoming transition. This will continue until the transition and I apologize beforehand to those of you who may get duplicate inserts over the next several months - trying to cover all bases.
Holiday teas are are still available and so is limited supply of some of the autumn blends!! See below for a list of all of these teas that remain in stock. We're continuing to add teaware every week, trying to get as much there as possible. Unfortunately, this has been a much slower process than we would like; however, if you saw something in the shop and it's not in the online shop yet, please let me know as much detail as possible and we'll get it figured out. Lastly, gift certificates are also available - see below for details.
This month we are staying in Southeast Asia and are "traveling" to Thailand. Teas from Thailand are hidden treasures and I look forward to exploring them with you.
Lastly, I am really excited to announce that I am now an NBHWC board-certified health and wellness coach. This was a rigorous process that I began two years ago and which culminated in passing the board exam that I sat for in November. Thank you to those of you who volunteered your time to get some free coaching from me to help me meet all of the requirements to sit for the board. On a related note, you may be familiar with MAHA (Make America Healthy Again). While I am not making a political statement, I am very excited about the potential and possibilities of this movement. The reason? The health statistics in this country are sobering. Chronic diseases (including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disease, cancer, dementia) have been on the rise despite the astronomical amount of money that has been spent for decades. More young people are getting cancer, obesity and co-morbidities are robbing people of an active life filled with vitality, childhood obesity has been increasing, which does not set up these kids for a lifetime of health and longevity. "Healthcare" is becoming more expensive and our medical system does not seem to understand the disease process or have an interest in how to actually turn things around, other than to prescribe a pill. They do not have the necessary training or direction to focus on the prevention of metabolic dysfunction and disease, or the underlying drivers once the diseases have showed their presence. While I have seen and experienced the shortcomings for decades dealing with my own health issues, my recent cancer diagnosis reminded me of just how ill-prepared our conventional medical system is to address the whole person and offer greater and more lasting solutions and support from a more fundamental standpoint. For those of you who work in healthcare, I mean no disrespect since I know that you work incredibly hard and have to deal with many difficult situations and I know many of you are not happy with the system in which you work. I am extremely grateful for my oncological team who saved my life, but there are many improvement opportunities that the typical person is not even aware of. While I am now in the surveillance mode of the cancer journey, I am left to deal with the destruction that has taken place in my body as a result of cancer treatment. Luckily, I have the knowledge and a wonderful integrative team to help me through this part of the journey to rebuild my body - even still, there are challenging days. I look forward to being a part of the MAHA movement in some form once I begin taking clients again later this year and providing free educational virtual webinars. Unfortunately, my cancer diagnosis derailed many of the plans that I had for 2024 - what I call "the time of the great inconvenience" ;) I look forward to getting back on track after I am settled in Tennessee, so stay tuned for details!
As always, I appreciate your continued support of my small business!! :)

Pick-Up Option
Donna from West Sayville Flowers (my former business neighbor) has generously offered her shop as an option for order pick-ups! This service will ONLY be available on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 5:00, so as not to interfere with Donna's business. Orders will need to be placed before the end of day on Sundays so that I will have the time to pull them together and get them over to her. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please indicate so in the Comments section of the cart. Please note that a shipping charge will be applied when you place your order, but it will be removed when I manually finalize and charge the order :)
Please be advised that, at times, her shop may be closed for a short period of time while they are running deliveries. They will have a sign posted stating this, so please be aware that this may happen if you decide to use this service. The last day for order pick-ups at Donna's will be 2/26.

Our Upcoming Move Details
The move in March is going to require significantly more logistics and there will be a longer interruption in service than what occurred at the closure of Infuse Tea Bar at the end of March last year. Preparation continues and here are some key things to keep in mind as the time draws near:
-
The last day to place orders in the online shop at https://www.pleasuresoftea.com/ will be Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00PM EST. There can be no extensions to this date or time, so please make note and place your orders before. All orders placed near the deadline will be shipped no later than early in the next week. Ordering before then will ensure the best selection of teas and quantity that you are looking for.
- I anticipate having the website back up for you to place your orders no earlier than May 1, 2025; however, I will not know if this is a realistic date until I have made the move and get everything back up and running. As many of you know, we have a "cat rescue" and my main priority once there will be getting them situated and used to their new home - a monumental feat ;). Getting the business back up and running will most likely be a slow process. I am hoping to begin filing the paperwork to open the business in Tennessee before I leave to hopefully hasten that part of the process. I will start the set-up as soon as I will be able, along with getting teas restocked once my business paperwork is approved. I will continue to keep you all updated at that time.
- We looked into the possibility of the website remaining live only for browsing and adding items to the shopping cart during the interruption in service; however, this is not feasible. Instead, there will be a message on our page stating that we are moving and anticipate being back up to receive orders around May 1st, etc.
- I am managing my tea inventory very tightly - trying to keep enough so you have what you need, but not so much that I have to move it all with me. I am already out of several teas and anticipate running out of more. This is a goal, so that I can restock once in TN.
- Out of stock teas are indicated on the website. If you are trying to place an order for a tea and you get an error, then this most likely means that you are trying to order more than what is in stock. Reduce the quantity until it goes through - so sorry that there is no easier way.
I am hoping to make this transition as smooth as possible, while still being able to support you and your tea needs. Reminders and any new details will continue to be communicated over the next two months. If you have any questions or need clarity on the above, please feel free to email me at kristine@infuseteabarny.com or reply to this email.

Thailand is known for many things - beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and delicious cuisine. Tea may not be one of the first things that come to mind, unless you count Thai Iced Tea; however, fabulous teas are crafted in this Southeast Asian country. As with Vietnam and other countries in the region, indigenous, wild-growing tea | |

plants thrive in the mountains of the northern part of the country. The climate in this part of the country is classified as tropical, but there are few months that are truly humid due to the 4,000- to 6,000-foot elevation where the plants are grown.
Even though, wild tea plants have been part of the ecosystem for a very long time, they never really became part of Thai culture. It wasn't until the 1940's that a local farmer noticed that tea could be grown in northern Thailand due to the similar climate to the surrounding tea-growing areas. Agricultural interest increased during the 1950's with the influx of Chinese refugees who settled in the area; however, it was not until the 1980's that commercial tea production started to take off predominately in the areas surrounding Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Tea production uses Shan tea as the leaf material, which is the wild-growing Camellia sinensis assamica type of the tea plant, or Taiwanese cultivars used to make wulong tea that were imported in the 1990's. Black teas, green teas, and Taiwanese-style wulong teas are crafted. Tea consumption has been increasing in Thailand and today approximately 85% of production is consumed domestically.
I offer several delicious teas from Thailand. Click the links for each tea to learn more about the growing and crafting of these wonderful teas:
-
Jin Xuan Organic Thai Black Tea - a rare tea crafted from the Taiwanese Jin Xuan cultivar in the Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand. The leaves yield an aromatic and very smooth, medium-bodied infusion with sweet, fruity, caramel and honey notes.
-
Choui Fong Green Tea - from the Chiang Rai Province grown at an elevation of 4,200 feet. This unique, large-leaf tea is crafted from the Camellia sinensis sinensis type of the tea plant using traditional Thai methods. The leaves yield a light- to medium-bodied, buttery and delicate infusion with lovely nutty, grassy, fruity and subtle floral notes.
-
Jin Xuan Thai Wulong - from the Chiang Rai Province grown at an elevation between 1,300 and 2,300 feet. Loosely rolled leaves of the Taiwanese Jin Xuan cultivar are lightly oxidized about 20-25%, yielding a light-bodied infusion with creamy, floral and fresh notes.
If you decide to "travel" to Thailand and try these teas, let me know how it goes! :)

Oh, and that Thai Iced Tea? Well, they were very popular in the shop. I used the Thai Blend Black Tea as the base and I have my recipe posted with the product info. It uses real ingredients and is a much healthier version of this treat than what you get elsewhere, which is loaded with sugar, artificial colors and flavors. If you give it a try, let me know your thoughts on this one too! :)
