Ingham Impact Podcast - Transition
T he third podcast in our series is about how students with disabilities are able to transition from high school to independent living and potential employment as young adults. Transition programs and services prepare students on a self-directed pathway through job training and life skills development with the ultimate goal of positive social inclusion and integrated, competitive employment.  The most important outcomes are to prepare students for a career and life as an adult. Check out all of our podcasts on our website

Transition Fair - March 5, 2016
The annual Transition Fair, hosted by the Ingham ISD Parent Advisory Committee, is scheduled for March 5, 2016. This event is free and open to the public. The Transition Fair is designed to connect students with disabilities and their parents to community resources and supports as they transition from high school to adult life. Community partners in the areas of home living, post-secondary education, employment, community support and recreational opportunities will be onsite. Join us on March 5 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 611 Hagadorn Road in Mason.
Leader Board Magazine - Reach Higher!
Often the work of intermediate school districts happens behind the scenes supporting local districts, families and students in our communities. In the winter issue of Leader Board Magazine, Michigan Association of School Boards ( MASB) highlighted Ingham ISD and Lansing in the " Reach Higher" article. The article focuses on some of our recent work with Lansing School District and the planned expansion due to the success of this partnership.

Substitute Job Fair - We Need Your Help...
School districts across the state are in need of qualified substitutes to teach our next generation of talent. The Ingham ISD service area is no different; there is a significant shortage of substitutes to work in our schools. Our partner, EDUStaff, is holding a job fair on Tuesday, February 2 from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Ingham ISD, 2630 West Howell Road in Mason.

We invite you to share this information with others who might be interested in becoming a substitute in our local area schools.

Lansing Youth Startup Challenge
The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) is sponsoring a Lansing Youth Startup Challenge for middle and high school students in the tri-county region including Clinton, Eaton and Ingham.

Students pitch a product or idea, and a business plan to support the concept. The overall champion receives a $1,000 Cash Prize. Check out the website for more information. Registration is open through February 25, 2016.
