In this edition of Ingram Art News, we look at the arrival of Anja Karisik’s Surfacing as well as Jane Everett’s newest Indigo Bay series. Further on, we welcome acclaimed painter Vlad Grospic to the gallery’s representation and explore the artist’s captivating visions. We then take a sneak peek at the magnificent ceramic works by sculptor Luke Pestl and new oils from the studio of Travis Shilling.

Paintings from Jane Everett’s lush Indigo Bay series have arrived at the gallery. Each piece in the collection presents intriguing renderings of life through the looking glass in glorious and musical expression.

Everett’s revered mixture of abstraction and realist settings create multidimensional images of their subject-matter, and the light-drenched works of Indigo Bay testify to the strength of this approach.

Open air and gestural freedom intermingle in Anja Karisik’s newest series of paintings, Surfacing. 

Drawing inspiration from Collingwood and Tiny Township near Georgian Bay, the collection of oils exemplify the artist’s intrepid vision and compositional style.

Karisik brings life and kinetic movement to her subjects in a variety of manners in the pieces, at times employing unconventional tools and approaches. In paintings like Interlace and Lifelines, the artist whips string dipped in oils to the canvas, revealing swaying grasses along the towering reflections of trees.

Ingram Gallery welcomes the exceptional painter Vlad Grospic to our artist representation. A master of paint and materials, Grospic’s art stands outside of time and at the forefront of contemporary art making. Working intently in studio over the past few years, the artist has created a series of exceptional pieces that set their walls aglow and are newly available at the gallery.

VLAD GROSPIC

LUKE PESTL

Both classical and modern, the first ceramic sculptures of Luke Pestl have arrived at the gallery. The tactile and sumptuous works of this multi-talented artist lean on the timeless function of the kiln as much as they invoke the art of graffiti. Pestl is currently in studio on the coast of Nova Scotia with a variety of new pieces to follow at the gallery in September.

TRAVIS SHILLING

After an astounding year in art and the acclaimed solo exhibition The Blue Tarp, Travis Shilling has recently delivered a series of newly completed canvases from studio. The intimate works are smaller in scale yet filled with the artist’s vision and iconic painterly style. Be sure to see these new pieces in person.
