Happy Easter and a continued joy-filled Easter Season.
The Season of Easter (Eastertide) is 50 days, beginning on Easter Sunday and concluding on Pentecost Day. The “Great Fifty Days” is a seven-week celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ with the gift of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Some traditions celebrate the first eight days as the “Octave of Easter,” thereby extending the joy and festivity of Easter Day by treating the first week as one continuous “great Sunday.”
Thank you for the many ways you participated in, supported, and celebrated with us during this summit of the liturgical year. Thank you for being a part of creating the meaningful space and atmosphere for worship. You “showed up” in person and online, prayed, cared for one another, supported the Lenten journey worship services on Wednesdays and Sundays, welcomed guests and members, extended radical hospitality, and gave generously to contribute to missions and ministry, all of this – serving as reminders that the Risen Christ is among us right now – everywhere.
Many thanks to you – the friends and congregation of Belin Memorial, volunteers, and staff – for your faithful and joyful service through your prayers, presence, gifts, and talents in ways that span across generations and ministries so that Jesus is made known and encountered.
Our Easter journey together continues as we joyfully serve God and neighbor to the glory of God.
You are invited and welcomed to continue the journey:
Starting Point – this Sunday, April 12 at 10 AM in Room 11 in the Family Life Center. This is a casual gathering of people who want to know more about Belin Memorial; get to know some of the leadership, staff, and pastors; and to assist with information on becoming a member if you are interested and/or ready to do so.
Celebration Honoring Oliver’s Lodge – this Sunday, April 12 following the 11 AM worship service. The service will include prayer, speakers to share valuable information about Oliver’s Lodge and its history in the community, and a “Light Tasting” prepared by Inlet Affairs featuring some vintage menu items associated with Oliver’s Lodge. Plan to join us as we honor the history while offering gratitude for the present and look forward to what God holds for the future.
