After 3 days in Greenville, our delegation is happy to be back from Annual Conference. Click here to watch meaningful worship services and to see the list of ministerial appointments. With joy and thanksgiving, I am pleased to announce that you’ll find Pastor Sandra and I are returning to Belin Memorial UMC for another year. We couldn’t be more pleased to continue in our ministry among you.
You’ll get a fuller report about Annual Conference during this Sunday’s worship service, but I wanted to share a video that was the highlight for us. Click here to get a feel for the work and excitement of our Conference’s service project packaging 125,000 meals that will help alleviate hunger.
Thank you to Belin Memorial’s Lay Members of Annual Conference (Hannah Cromley, Jane Cromley, Dave Hobson, Lynne Hobson, Di Smith, and Susan Talbot) for representing our church well and for being a conduit of information back to Murrells Inlet from the Conference. Hannah will report Sunday, but feel free to ask any of our delegates about their experience. We’re grateful for their time throughout the year and especially during the Conference meeting days.
Also this week our Guatemala Mission Team built another home in 3 days. It’s an incredible feat that demonstrates what God can do with willing hands. Imagine the joy of having a safe and secure home for the first time in your life.
Safe and secure are good words to describe the loving arms of Ms. Myrt Mazyck and the loving arms into which she is being received. For 55 years Ms. Myrt gave loving care to the children of Belin Memorial’s Sunday morning nursery and to many families throughout the week. Mr. Myrt referred to Belin Memorial as “my church” and to the children as “my babies.” Our church and any family cared for by Ms. Myrt was blessed by her kind spirit and deep faith. It is our honor to host her funeral this Sunday at 2 PM in the Belin Sanctuary.
It is Belin Memorial’s privilege to honor our nation’s 250th birthday with Of Thee We Sing, a concert offered by our choir on Thursday, July 2 at 7 PM. Mark that night on your calendar!
To help children celebrate our nation, Colonial Kids Camp begins this Monday, June 15, and continues through Thursday, June 18. From Noon until 3 PM in the Family Life Center, campers will learn what it was like to live in the 18th century and celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America in a fun and unforgettable way. Forty years before our nation declared independence, John Wesley was a missionary to Georgia. 290 years later, Sally and I will lead a group from Belin to his visit Wesley’s primary locations of ministry (Savannah and St. Simons Island). We’re calling it John Wesley in America: A Methodist Heritage Tour and the dates are October 27-30, 2026. Learn more by registering using the QR code by clicking HERE.

Starting Point will gather this Sunday, June 14 at 10 AM in FLC (Room 13). This is a great way to learn more about Belin Memorial UMC, including the joining process. Attend and/or invite your friends.

Cub and Boy Scouts will sell the 2026 Murrells Inlet Boat Parade T-shirts on Sunday, June 21 between worship services. The cost is $10 per shirt. This is one of their biggest fundraisers for the year. Contact Todd Mullins (tbm28145@gmail.com) for more information.

We’ll host a Book Drive from June 22 - June 25. We are asking for new or gently used children’s books in partnership with Horry County’s Summer Reading Camp and The Shepherd’s Table in Conway. Books can be dropped off in the Family Life Center where a cart will be set up for donations. For more information, please contact Mary Mallick (marym@belinumc.org).

Belin Missions Team has one of its biggest fundraisers for international missions on the Fourth of July. The Missions Team is looking for volunteers to assist with parking for the Fourth of July Murrells Inlet Boat Parade and Fireworks show. The team opens the Field of Faith for free public parking, but donations are accepted to support mission projects.
