For many, summer means a change of schedule. Whether that’s because school is out, the sun rises earlier (and the days get hotter), or travel, routines get disrupted. As your schedule may have changed recently and as Belin Memorial’s worship schedule soon will, I want to recommend automatic bank draft to you. Not only is it safe and secure, it’s…automatic.

Sally and I set ours up years ago and our tithing happens regardless of weather, travel, or health. We can even put a reusable card in the offering plate or basket as a way of participating in that part of the worship services. Best of all, the church receives our gifts whether our routine changes or stays the same.

To set up an automatic giving option, please follow these simple steps:

You CLICK HERE enter your giving amount and click "Recurring." It's that simple to enroll in automatic giving.

However you give, the gifts are needed. I recently learned that our shared ministries at Belin Memorial UMC cost an average of $12,200 per day. Those costs, like the significant ministries they support, continue regardless of our Sunday worship routine.

In addition to regular giving, you may want to talk with your financial advisor about charitable giving tax deductions, which have changed in the past year. Also, for those 70.5 years of age or older, consider talking with your advisor about including Belin Memorial UMC in your annual Required Minimum Distributions.

Whatever you are able to give helps us to help one another, our local community, and far beyond, including Epworth, which our congregation has supported with $7,935.83 (includes $7,080.83 on Mother's Day).

We appreciate all who helped make Epworth’s annual Mother’s Day Offering a success. Those gifts help provide direct care for children living on Epworth’s campus, children across the state in their foster care program, and other children and families served through Epworth’s programs across South Carolina.

Ministry in Guatemala - watch this video to see a home that was built in three days and lots of loving interactions between the mission team from Belin Memorial and the people of Guatemala. You'll hear more about the mission trip this Sunday in worship.
Belin Youth, which will leave Sunday, June 28, for their Summer Retreat. Pray for them as they travel to Ridgecrest, NC to experience God’s presence and Christian community in the Blue Ridge mountains.
United Methodist Men who will meet Monday, June 29 at 6 PM. The guest speaker will be Kelly Thorvalson, Senior Manager of the South Carolina Aquarium. She will speak about the Turtle Hospital and the impact that plastics have on the environment. Godon Myers will be fixing his famous pork chops with wonderful desserts. The Belin Memorial Chancel Choir who will present a Patriotic Concert “Of Thee We Sing” on Thursday, July 2, at 7 PM in The Sanctuary. It will a wonderful way to start the July 4th weekend.
The Belin Missions Team, which is looking for volunteers to assist with parking for the Fourth of July Murrells Inlet Boat Parade and Fireworks show. This project is one of the team’s biggest yearly fundraisers. The Field of Faith offers free public parking, and donations are accepted to support mission projects. Worship, which, beginning July 12, will be held in the Family Life Center each Sunday morning (8:45 AM – Modern worship; 11 AM– Traditional Worship) while The Sanctuary’s pews and flooring are refreshed.
Creekfront Salkehatchie when a group of youth and adults will make homes in our area warmer, safer, and dryer. The dates this year are July 19-25 and the camp will use the Belin Memorial Family Life Center as their homebase. A very special treat this year is that South Carolina’s Bishop Leonard E. Fairley and his wife, Dawn, will be participants in the home repair. On Monday, July 20 at 7:30 PM in the FLC, Bishop Fairley will share about his new book Silver Linings and offer a book signing. You are invited to attend the presentation that evening.
