Programming at Belin Memorial

Belin Memorial is in constant motion! There are many events and programs happening each and every week of the year. We wanted to highlight several happenings and opportunities that are in motion here at Belin at this time and in the near future.

Children's Programs

Shine Time is our Sunday morning children's programs in the children's building. We provide:
  • Nursery & Toddler room - ages Newborn - 4 years
  • Children's Church - ages 4 years - 2nd grade
    • 8:45 AM - 9:45 AM and 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Sunday School - ages Pre-K thru 5th grade
Confirmation - 6th graders meet in Room 11 in the Family Life Center during Sunday School hour.

Daddy-Daughter Dance is Friday, March 22, 7:00 PM in the Family Life Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles or family friends to take your special girl out for a night of dancing and fellowship! No age limits!

A children's  Lenten Study will be available on Tuesday evenings beginning March 19 (more information to come).

Our annual  Easter-Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 13, 10 AM - 12 PM in the Family Life Center. Come enjoy snacks, games, the reading of the Easter Story, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and, of course, the egg hunt!

For information on children's programs, please email or call Emeline Jordan, emelinej@belinumc.org or 843.997.8519.

Adult Programs

Looking to February, there is an exciting event taking place  Sunday, February  24 through Wednesday February 27 . Many of you had the opportunity to hear Ed Kilbourne, a Christian singer, storyteller and folk-theologian a few years ago here at Belin Memorial. Ed will be returning to lead worship in the Harbor on Sunday, February 24, and to conduct an  "Adult Vacation Bible School " on Monday, February 25 through Wednesday, February 27. All adults, especially our seniors, are invited to a half-day time of fellowship and fun with Ed. His message is always inspiring and uplifting. Please mark your calendars to attend and be sure to register with Jane Sparks, janes@belinumc.org  or 843.357.5185.

These are just a few of the exciting happenings here at Belin Memorial. We hope that you and your family continue to grow in Christ by participating in programming here at Belin Memorial.

Belin Backpack Mission
Food Drive This Saturday . . .

February 2, 11 AM - 3 PM
Lowes Foods, Murrells Inlet

In conjunction with the "Sack Hunger" initiative, Belin's Backpack Mission has teamed up with Lowes Foods in Murrells Inlet to collect food items for our local school children.

If you could volunteer 1-4 hours of your time to help with this or upcoming food drives, please contact Kara Dellinger, kara.dellinger@va.gov or 843.855.4227.

Please continue to fill the green "Sack Hunger" bags found in the sanctuary and Family Life Center. Your generous donations are feeding our community.

New Study for Men and Women
the ROCK, the ROAD, and the RABBI

This 6-week study for men and women begins on Wednesday, February 6, at 6 PM, in the Family Life Center. Please contact Jane Sparks to register, janes@belinumc.org or 843.357.5185.

Our group will "walk" through Israel to learn about the historic sites of the land using scripture and the book "The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi" to help us understand its significance to our Christian faith. We will view Israel from a different perspective and grow in our affection for the story of our faith as told in God's word, the Bible. Study members will engage in reading, discussions, informative videos, and weekly fellowship with other "travelers."
Adult Fellowship Lunch
Wednesday, February 6,  11:30 AM
Family Life Center

Please join us for our next Adult Fellowship Luncheon. We are delighted to have Jack and Patsy Cundiff sharing about camellias, "the Winter Rose of the South." They are enthusiasts and will share their tips on appreciating and growing these beautiful flowers.

Our luncheon is a time of fun and fellowship as we come together for a great meal and a chance to make new friends. We ask that you bring a covered dish to share and a friend. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Belin Creative Learning Center
Our Belin Creative Learning Center (BCLC) continues to grow and thrive under the direction of Amanda Romance. Amanda has been director there for just six months but has made significant strides in teacher morale and training, student curriculum, and communication with parents.

The BCLC recently had an unannounced visit from the Department of Social Services. The DSS consultant visited all the classrooms and playground to observe students and teachers. She also checked staff files and all necessary paperwork in the office. All paperwork and the environment were in order without a citation. The BCLC passed with flying colors! We're glad to have Ms. Amanda on board at Belin Memorial.
