In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
الله أكبر! وإنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

Assalamu Alaikum our dear respected brothers and sisters of the Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of Sheikh Mohammad Toukhy, a beloved member of Masjid Omar Community. We share sadness and sorrow with his friends and family, as we remember the words of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” He is survived by his wife and 5 kids in Columbus, as well as his parents and siblings in Egypt.

Janazah and burial were held yesterday, Saturday May 16th. We understand that many Community members would have liked to participate in the janazah and burial of our beloved brother, however, under the current circumstances, only a limited number of people are allowed to attend burials.

Let us all pray and make dua'a for our brother, wherever we are. May Allah give his family patience and strength in these difficult times. May Allah make his grave a garden of Paradise, and accept him to the highest levels of Jannah! Ameen!
