Innovate!

Uber, Netflix, Air B&B - these and many more like it have been seriously disruptive forces in our economy these days.They reflect almost perfectly the "creative destruction" that many refer to when they talk about capitalism. While many jobs are impacted, these new services and others like it also represent significant innovation. 

As professionals and as a professional association, we face the challenge of innovating to maintain the relevance of the profession. How will we leverage technology to improve what we have to offer to our employers? What growth and change is needed personally to meet these challenges?

Our Spotlight  today talks about whether or not budgeting, that annual trial we all face, is past its prime. In News from the Profession  we look at the intriguing possibility of the end of cash. What innovations would this drive in our profession?

Our Institute and Chapter exist to grow and promote Credit education in Manitoba and we have a lot of tools that can help you do just that.

How would you feel if your company abolished budgeting? Many would jump for joy at not having to submit to this annual pain any more. Abandoning the annual budget is exactly what the Beyond Budgeting Roundtable (BBR) has recommended companies to do.

Communications
The Communications Chair is responsible for drafting routine correspondence for the board and President; responding to member queries; and preparing job opportunity emails and contributing to/preparing the bi-monthly newsletter.

Directorships
Directors are board members without portfolio, and comprise the majority of the board. They work within the board to help ensure the success of board plans and activities.
