There's still time to sign up for Phase II Adopters Training for Canvas!
For those that were interested in adopting Canvas early but were unable to attend a Summer 2018 session to teach over Fall 2018, Phase II Adopter trainings will be available this fall for Canvas implementation over Spring 2019!

To sign up for one of our Fall 2018 trainings, please complete this survey.

Please also be aware that you will be unable to use Canvas unless you have attended a Canvas training.

If you are unable to attend a Fall 2018 training but would still like to migrate before Spring 2019, trainings will also be offered over Winterim, though dates are not set in stone just yet.
Student Device Preferences for Online Course Access and Multimedia Learning
Dr. Mary Ellen Dello Stritto and Dr. Kathryn E. Linder put together a research study for Oregon State University Ecampus regarding student device preferences in their online courses.

The study surveyed online students and asked them various questions about their use of desktop computers, laptops, smart phones, and tablets. Their key findings concluded that students overwhelmingly preferred laptops for accessing the learning management system, viewing content, and for learning simulations.

Over 99% of students surveyed owned laptops, and all but two owned a smart phone.

Action Research Project - Canvas Refresher Training for Early Adopters
Instructional designer Maggie Lawler will be completing her Masters degree in December. As part of her research requirement for her degree, she needs to conduct an action research project. Because of this, the Innovations in Learning team will be hosting Canvas Refresher Training for Early Adopters interested in participating.

Training will be available in both online and face-to-face formats. Willing participants will be asked to complete anonymous pre and post-assessment surveys so that Innovations in Learning can provide the best training opportunities possible moving forward.

The study aims to identify whether online or face-to-face refresher trainings are more beneficial to participants.

Early Adopters will be contacted in early October regarding late October training opportunities.
