FHSD has posted two key leadership positions to join the team beginning July 1, 2025, and would like your help in the process.

Staff and community stakeholders are invited to provide input by February 7 on desirable characteristics and traits successful candidates should possess for the following two roles: 

• Chief Academic Officer (CAO) - Current CAO Dr. Connie Buckman announced plans last week to finish her career in a school setting. She will serve as an assistant principal at Independence Elementary next school year.

• Deputy Superintendent of Operations - The current Chief Finance and Operations Officer (CFOO) role is being retitled as a Deputy Superintendent of Operations. This is not an additional position. Current CFOO Mrs. Carol Embree has served the District for two years under the state’s critical shortage waiver, which allows retirees to return to full-time work on a temporary basis for positions that are difficult to fill. 

Both positions are currently accepting applications through noon on February 14. Job descriptions are available online. If you know any qualified candidates who may be interested in serving as the District’s next CAO or Deputy Superintendent of Operations, please encourage them to apply on the District website.

Want to be on an interview team?

Human Resources is seeking volunteers to serve on a parent/patron interview team for each position. Those selected will gather on February 26 to interview candidates as part of the hiring process. If you are interested in serving on one of these teams, indicate your interest on the appropriate input form and provide your contact information.
