What's New?

Login & Registration Updates Coming

When the Web Presence Standing Committee conducted focus groups in 2025, complexities with the account setup and profile process prompted the team to coordinate with the Identity and Access Management group to review and recommend updates with these goals:

  • Consistent user-friendly language
  • Simplified user experience
  • Functionality improvements

Those should launch in June, making the process of keeping ACCESS profiles up to date much clearer.

Fifteen Students Begin STEP Workshop

The ACCESS Student Training & Engagement Program (STEP-1) workshop kicked off on May 26 with 15 students coming together at Florida International University in Miami. For two weeks, they'll learn from skilled professionals about careers in cyberinfrastructure, including networking, cybersecurity and software engineering for high-performance computing systems.

Virtual Quarterly Meeting Now One Session

Based on feedback regarding potential topics for the upcoming June Virtual Quarterly Meeting, leadership has decided to focus on a single popular session, "What's Everyone Developing?". This will be a session lasting one to two hours, and you'll receive a meeting invitation as soon as the date and time are set.

What should AI tools do for scientists that current tools cannot?

To get at this, Ai2 is running a 15-minute survey for scientists and experts who support scientific work to understand where AI could be useful in real research work such as:

  • reading papers
  • analyzing data
  • writing code
  • using scientific software
  • working with datasets
  • planning experiments

or anything else that matters in your field.

They hope to hear from a broad and diverse range of research communities, from AI power users to novices. Take the survey here.
