CHS Wish List Brings Gifts of Joy to our Waiting Kids and Young Adults
Children's Home Society is proud of the efforts of our staff and humbled by the generosity of our friends and supporters, who guaranteed a
Happy Holidays
for dozens of our foster kids and The Possibilities Project
(TPP)
young adults. Our
TPP
youth made a list of items they wanted or needed and CHS social workers added that to a Wish List for our kids
waiting to be adopted
, which we posted on our website and Facebook
We were overwhelmed
by the community
response! All of the items were delivered by our generous friends, some of them taking on entire
sections
of Santa's long list. The gifts were delivered to our offices, where our staff and volunteers bundled them up and delivered directly to eager children. We even were able to provide Christmas trees and decorations for our independently-living TPP youth in their new homes.
Thanks to all who contributed to this amazing display of Holiday Spirit!

Acts of Kindness:
Early in November we received a special gift; an anonymous donor sent a FedEx containing thirteen tickets to the
Broadway in Richmond
performance of Elf The Musical at the Altria Theatre! We were able to invite some very excited children, who otherwise may have never attended a professional live production, or had a reason to dress up for a holiday outing. Several of our staff joined them on a cold winter's night for a warm dinner and a spectacular event.
Thanks Secret Santa, whoever you are!

Waiting Child Spotlight: LANCE
16-year-old Lance enjoys being active and learning about new things. Lance is a veggie lover and enjoys trying new food. He has expressed a love for Thai, Indian, Dominican and Jamaican food. He enjoys taking time to himself by walking around the neighborhood or through the woods. Lance would love to be adopted but hopes to stay close to where he is now. He has some good friends that are like family. He is excited to explore his options and is hoping to find a family who will accept him for who he is. He would love a laid back family who will trust him and allow him to be a teenager. Lance knows he needs rules and supervision, and he's learning how to adjust to a home where these exist. Lance is open to a 1 or 2 parent home where there may be kids and pets. He's open to same gendered couples and has no preference when it comes to race/ethnicity.
We need your help to find Lance and all of our waiting kids the permanent family every child deserves. Please like and share the photos and videos of waiting kids we post on our
Facebook
page. And make sure to visit our Waiting Children page on our website
too!
Thank you!
