Hello Everyone!

We find ourselves in the throes of a rather unusual situation with the pandemic. I am hopeful that you all have your questions answered, know where all of the resources and information is that you need, and are settled into the new routine of telework. Please know that I'm always just an email away if you need anything.

When the logistics of telecommuting during a pandemic are addressed, the difficulties that remain are often emotional. I know many of you are raising children and trying to school them at the same time you are working, or caring for family and friends that need your help. I know it's a lot. Please remember we are all in this together and do take advantage of UCAR's resources for managing stress during this difficult time. UCAR also has an Employee Assistance Program ( EAP ) if that might be of help. I want you all to stay healthy on every level during this stressful time.

As always staff who need support can reach out to the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion ( ODEI ). In particular I want to make sure anyone of Asian descent is doing okay in light of the increase in racist attacks. ODEI has scheduled another listening session for our Asian-American and Asian employees on April 17th from 1-3pm. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you. You are not alone. Support can also be found through Carolyn Brinkworth who heads ODEI.

Thank you all for your terrific work, particularly in light of these unusual circumstances. Each one of you is the heart of CPAESS. I genuinely appreciate all that you do to improve science and serve our world community.
