Hello Everyone!

I truly hope this finds you all well and happy! Fall is upon us and the leaves are changing in the mountains here in Colorado. I hope things are colorful and beautiful in your area.

We are still in the midst of hurricane season and many of you contribute to the important work of keeping people safe. Please know that I am thinking of you all, and the more challenging than normal conditions that COVID has placed on you. You have my sincere appreciation for your fortitude and steadfastness as you work protecting the people of this country.

This month there are some changes to our staff. I would like to begin by thanking our CPAESS colleagues who work at NOAA’s Office of Water Prediction (OWP), many of whom will be transitioning to new employers.  Additionally I would like to thank and wish the very best to Ginny Selz, Monika Kopacz, Hunter Jones, and Emily Smith who are all becoming NOAA employees. Lastly, a thank you to Scott Robinson whom many of you may know as he arranged your travel in his friendly, competent manner. It has been our pleasure to have you all as co-workers. Thank you, for all that you have done and will continue to do. I wish each of you the very best in your future work.

I understand the pandemic has altered the nature of travel and events. If you need any assistance regarding them, please contact Senior Program Manager, Melanie Russ.

We have been working hard on multiple proposals here in Boulder, and CPAESS continues to grow and contribute to great science. Please know how impressed I am with the work that is being done across our CPAESS program. I truly appreciate all of your efforts. Please stay safe, and I hope you all have the chance to enjoy our beautiful, changing autumn.
