| | | “It’s been a fulfilling life. I’m 66. I had my first child when I was 19. That’s when I was trying to figure out life: What am I going to do? How am I going to raise this boy? I separated, then divorced. So now I find myself alone with this little guy. And then I met a great guy, we got married, I had a bunch of kids. Still trying to figure out how I’m going to make this work, how are we going to raise these five children. I was working a factory job. They wanted somebody that they could report to if there were any medical issues." | | Every day across the Denver metro area, RTD employees are making lives better through connections. RTD mourns the loss of bus operator Jamie Rozinski, who died April 12.
Rozinski joined RTD in September 2022, where he was an employee at Boulder Division. He most recently operated Routes JUMP and FF1.
| |
“Jamie was always easygoing,” Boulder Operating Division Manager Winona Rivera said. “During his split shift, he would sit in the driver’s room and ensure he said hello to everyone with a smile. He had many life experiences, but always looked at things with a positive attitude, as he wanted to see the best things in life. He will be genuinely missed.”
“Jamie was a great friend and coworker. I met him five years ago and he was someone I could always talk to about anything,” bus operator Benny Rocha said. “He was actually just a great man and friend to me; I am going to miss him a lot. You know how people say that you spend more time with the people you work with than your own family? Well, that is true because he was not just my friend, but became my brother.”
If you would like to speak with someone about this loss, please call RTD’s
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at 1.800.284.1819. Employees in Bus
Operations are also invited to contact Rivera, at 303.299.5010, or Michael Miles, at 303.299.5020. Additionally, all impacted employees are encouraged to reach out to their supervisor, mentor, or another member of management team to receive assistance.
