A note from the editors

Welcome to the new, evolved Inside Connections – a weekly newsletter for RTD employees that provides you with information you need to know and want to read.

This all-digital format reflects listening from all corners of the agency, conducted over the past several months by the members of RTD’s Internal Communications team. We heard a consistent desire for transparent text about noteworthy items, projects in progress, and updates related to safety and security. Of utmost importance, employees voiced a desire to feel seen, recognized and connected with colleagues. Watch for items in the IC that reflect this guidance.

Thoughts, questions, story ideas? Send it all to insideconnections@rtd-denver.com. Our team is grateful for your feedback and dedicated to providing content that is important to you.

Employee Spotlight

Every day across the Denver metro area, RTD employees are making lives better through connections. The agency is proud to spotlight our exceptional workforce who go above and beyond in their roles and embody RTD’s core values. Join us in celebrating colleagues who personify the values of passion, respect, diversity, trustworthiness, collaboration and ownership.

Employees across the agency displayed incredible teamwork and dedication in delivering Zero Fare for New Year’s Eve service, benefiting thousands of customers across the region who relied upon RTD as they celebrated. Thanks go to all rail operators, supervisors and staff, with many going above and beyond to provide additional trips into the morning hours. Also, approximately 35 Transit Police officers assisted customers on New Year’s Eve, many riding trains and buses. A few officers rode bus Routes 15 and 0, as well as the W Line, throughout the night. These employees exhibited RTD's values of passion, collaboration and ownership.
