Celebrating Women's History Month: Honoring Leadership, Progress and Empowerment at RTD

Diversity Spotlight celebrates the diversity of RTD employees and the larger community that RTD serves and fosters an appreciation of our social and cultural similarities and differences. Diversity Spotlight supports RTD’s values of passion, respect, diversity, trustworthiness, collaboration and ownership.

As we celebrate Women's History Month in 2025, the theme "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations" resonates deeply within the public transportation industry, particularly at RTD. This theme underscores the collective power of women who educate, mentor and inspire future generations of leaders. At RTD, we proudly highlight the women shaping the present and future of public transportation through the “Why RTD? Inspiring Stories of Career Growth, Achievements and Leadership” initiative. This series showcases how women’s leadership is driving innovation, inclusivity and equity within RTD’s transit system.

Bus wrap honoring Women’s History Month hits the street

March is Women’s History Month, and this year’s theme is "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations." To honor this month, RTD is launching a specially designed bus to celebrate women. This wrapped bus, which was developed in concert with the women of RTD video, “Why RTD?”, has been integrated into the agency’s regular service and will travel throughout the district for the remainder of 2025.

RTD began rolling out artistically wrapped buses last year to celebrate diversity. This bus is the fifth in the series of special wraps. Others feature artwork that honors Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month; Pride Month; the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act; and Hispanic-Latine Heritage Month. Each bus reflects RTD's commitment to making lives better through connections within the diverse community the agency serves.
