CTE, RTD announce $9.3 million in funding to increase frequency of certain bus routes
The Colorado Clean Transit Enterprise (CTE) and RTD announced a $9.3 million grant to increase frequency, launch new service on key bus routes, restore service on some routes, and provide extra capacity for high-volume events.
This funding, authorized under Senate Bill 24-230, marks the first award under the new formula grant program created by the legislature and signed by Gov. Jared Polis, representing the largest single investment that CTE, a state-owned business housed within the Colorado Department of Transportation, will make for fiscal year 2026.

| RTD highlights transit access during First Friday Art Walk | | | | RTD's Community Engagement team connected with more than 100 community members during the First Friday Art Walk at Museo de las Américas on May 1, sharing information about the ease and convenience of using transit to reach the Santa Fe Arts District. | | |
The Museo and surrounding arts corridor are served by the D, E, and H lines at 10th•Osage Station, as well as the Art District Connector (ART), which links Alameda Station, the Santa Fe Arts District via 10th Avenue and Osage Street, and 40th•Colorado Station, including access to the A Line.
Attendees were invited to contribute to an interactive, community-driven artwork facilitated by RTD. Participants selected a color and painted a simple shape that reflected how they live, create, or travel along Santa Fe Drive.

He is safe, and he knows the regulars. Today, I forgot my phone on the bus. He not only tried to find it when dispatch contacted him, but also looked again in the garage and found it where it had slipped down between two seats. | | Bus operator’s kindness to customers makes stressful trip downtown a breeze | My adult son is in a wheelchair, and I was stressed because we were late for a concert at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. It was a warm Saturday night, and downtown was wildly busy. The operator, Karen Crisp, was good-humored, professional, and welcoming, both getting my son on and off the bus. | | Welcome to RTD's newest employees! | | Eight employees joined the agency at Monday’s orientation. | From Safety and Environmental Compliance: First aid cabinet standardization work is underway
RTD is updating all workplace first aid cabinets. Cabinets will be standardized and labeled Class A, which supports lower-hazard environments, or Class B, which supports higher-hazard environments with increased risk of work environment hazards and associated risks.
Employees will see standardized supplies, contents lists, and inspection records. Some items, including medications, will be removed. These items are not included in recognized workplace first-aid standards and pose safety and liability risks when provided in an open-access cabinet without medical oversight. Cabinets remain available for workplace injuries. Employees must report missing critical supplies immediately.
