Chief Financial Officer MacLeod to retire in March 2025

Today, General Manager and CEO Debra A. Johnson announced that Chief Financial Officer Doug MacLeod intends to retire from the agency no later than March 28, 2025, after nearly 15 years of service to RTD. He joined the agency as Accounting Controller and was appointed CFO in April 2021. The timing of MacLeod’s retirement will enable him to assist in the recruitment, selection and transition of his successor in the role.

“Although Doug’s last day is months away, I express my heartfelt gratitude and respect for his dedication and commitment to the agency during his many years of service,” Johnson wrote in an agencywide email. “I also thank Doug for his willingness to work collaboratively on this transition, permitting the agency the greatest chance to fill the massive shoes he is leaving behind.”

By close of business today, the Chief Financial Officer position will be live on the RTD Careers webpage and the website for KL2 Connects, the firm that will assist with this executive search.

Operator uses every resource to update customers about detour

Alexandria Ortega, my Route 43 driver this morning, deserves a reward for grace under pressure. I got on at MLK Boulevard and Franklin Street and got off close to 15th and Champa streets. The bus was packed! I was one of at least five standees. Our driver used the smart-media console to contact dispatch about the next L Line departure, to offer an option to us passengers.
