RTD adopts resolution focused on eliminating transit-related traffic fatalities, injuries | RTD is bolstering efforts to eliminate traffic fatalities and injuries within its transit operations and infrastructure. During Tuesday night’s Board meeting, RTD’s Directors approved a resolution that outlines agency-specific initiatives related to a Vision Zero strategy. | | |
Northbound speed restrictions lifted between Southmoor, Colorado stations | E and H line trains have resumed normal speeds along this segment of the Southeast Corridor. The 10-mile-per-hour speed restrictions were first implemented in early June and remained in place until necessary maintenance work could be completed. Over the last week, approximately six miles of rail defect mitigation efforts were completed in Slow Zone No. 1, which includes Colorado, Yale and Southmoor stations. | |

Yesterday, RTD employees had a chance to take a break from their duties and head to Customer Care’s break room to paint pumpkins for display at tomorrow's BOOnion Station Trick-or-Treat Parade. Participants also enjoyed cornhole, Connect 4, root beer floats and Halloween candy. | |

Bus operator goes out of way to make Colfax BRT event a success |
It is often the little things that make such a difference in a large event. For us, at the East Colfax Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) groundbreaking, it was our RTD parade bus driver. James Collier went above and beyond in every way, rolling up his sleeves to help set up and tear down chairs, passing out cookies to event attendees and jumping in to help in any way he could.

At last night’s monthly meeting, the RTD Board of Directors recognized the winners of the 2024 Light Rail, Snowplow and Bus Ro(a)deos. Afterward, they approved the 2025 Investment and Fiscal policies and the 2025 Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP). The Board also adopted the Strategic Plan Agency Performance Scorecard; the Director Orientation, Onboarding and Continuing Education Policy; and a resolution supporting Vision Zero initiatives.
Additionally, the Board heard updates from RTD General Manager and CEO Debra A. Johnson about her participation in the Transportation Legislation Review Committee, the groundbreaking of the East Colfax Avenue Bus Rapid Transit project and the Front Range Passenger Rail retreat. Johnson also provided her thoughts on her experience at the agency’s celebration of light rail’s 30th anniversary, and she encouraged customers to provide feedback about RTD’s paratransit services. Johnson reiterated that there were no budget reductions recommended by staff in the 2025 budget related to paratransit services, and final budgetary decisions will be taken at the Dec. 3 Board meeting. She wrapped up her report by sharing information about the proposed January 2025 service change public meetings, encouraging customers to share their thoughts on the proposed changes.

From 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, bus shuttle service will run between Decatur•Federal and Auraria West stations as crews complete an inspection of the rail bridge over the Platte River. | |
A Line schedule changes, delays expected this weekend | |

Expect 10-minute delays westbound this weekend, Oct. 26-27, on the A Line due to work at the Havana Street crossing. Trains will operate every 30 minutes. Customers can board both eastbound and westbound trains on Track 2 at Central Park and Peoria stations. Regular service resumes Monday. | |
