Largest competitor pool in RTD history highlights successful 2024 Bus Roadeo
As the sun rose over the eastern plains of Colorado on Saturday morning, dozens of volunteers and competitors were already at District Shops preparing for the largest Bus Roadeo event in RTD’s history. The quietness of the morning was swiftly disrupted by the roaring hums of RTD buses, as operators put their skills to the test on a winding course consisting of obstacles designed to mimic what they navigate on the road.
It was a day to remember for many.

Changes coming to RTD's participation in the FAMLI program | On Oct. 1, RTD will no longer deduct premiums for any employees participating in the Colorado Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program. Due to administrative requirements implemented by the program, it is no longer feasible for RTD to continue deducting premiums from every participating employee’s paycheck. This change by RTD will not affect any employee’s ability to participate in the FAMLI program. Employees currently participating, as well as those who would like to participate in the future, will be responsible for submitting their own wage data and paying their premiums to the state of Colorado.

FM mechanic shows employee's family around District Shops |
I want to commend Facilities Maintenance (FM) Mechanic Alan Wilkes for providing me and my family with the best tour of District Shops I’ve ever had. Over the past several years, I have done my best to describe to them the scale and complexity of the work that takes place at this vast facility, but nothing substitutes for being able to walk the floor in person.

D Line operator brightens customer's day with fast service, kindness |
Light rail operator Derrick Mitchell deserves all the awards. He was early. Despite the speed limit, he got us to Union Station on time. Give this wonderful man the biggest raise. I so, so appreciate him and thank him for his outstanding customer service. Can this gentleman please drive the 5:19 a.m. D Line from Mineral Station from now on? He is a valuable asset to RTD, and I so hope that something nice happens for this man.

However, making healthy choices can be a challenge with busy schedules, causing many people to rely on fast food and pre-packaged, processed foods. With so many fad diets and foods falsely labeled as healthy, it can be confusing to know where to start. Check out resources available to RTD employees to help form healthy eating habits and make lasting change.
